This may seem a strange question, but have you setup surround output in your operating system's audio settings panel? It won't switch over automatically. I've had my fair share of problems with the SoundBlaster X3, and the horrible stupid Creative drivers, but with a USB device I have the choice to uninstall those drivers and it will instead work over USB audio protocols like any other USB DAC. ![]() ![]() USB SoundBlaster products like the SoundBlaster X3 and SoundBlaster X4 have similar outputs to the Sound Blaster Z SE. The Sound Blaster Z SE is a PCIE sound card, so it requires drivers to work properly. I would tell most people to avoid SoundBlaster, but if you're talking about a real surround sound speaker system and not virtual surround sound, I'll admit their products are very unique.
